The cast of FAME

Washburn students performed “Fame,” the musical at Washburn March 9-19, 2012. The quality of the acting, dancing, singing and the orchestra was amazing. The show was made possible thanks to Nancy Lee, Vocal Music director, and Tim Martin, Band and Orchestra director.

Washburn Boys Basketball Coach Reggie Perkins is featured in story by Mark Rosen and Mike Max of Channel 4. Washburn won the Boys State Basketball Championship in 2009 under the leadership of Coach Perkins.

Washburn also won the state championship in 1994.

Washburn Edged Rocori in the 2012 quarterfinal game 52-49.

I definitely had more fun at WHS than I could have ever imagined! Swim team, cheerleader, student council, etc. was a blast in the early 80s!

Attended Smith College, Northampton, MA (big change from WHS) and now live in Sacramento, CA. I am a public school teacher who was inspired to teach by many wonderful teachers in MPS system, including Mr. Stroebel (sp?)[science], Mr. Ario [economics, philosophy, etc.], and Mrs. Anderson [English].
